custom mug

I will create a mug with your own chosen message or recreate one of my designs especially for you but please note, custom mugs are made from scratch and take up to 8 weeks to make.

The mug will be made in a pale or neutral clay with black lettering in the font Baskerville, upper and/or lowercase letters with the exception of the large lettering which is Times New Roman and all uppercase.

The colour of the glaze will vary depending on my current colour stock. Glaze colours cannot be requested.

All of my stoneware pieces are carefully constructed by hand. This mug will be made by combining throwing and the 'pinch' method. Each one is shaped, handle attached, letter stamped, glazed, fired and finished by me. A local potter sometimes assists me with the throwing of the inital cyclinder shape. All my mugs are full of character including finger marks, wobbly edges, wonky lettering, glaze splats & gaps and drips which add to their charm and rustic feel. Perfectly imperfect.

Care instructions: My mugs are not as robust as factory produced ceramics so it's worth treating it a little more gently than your average mug. Dishwasher safe but hand washing is recommended to prolong the life of the mug. Due to the metallic nature of some of my glazes I do not recommend microwaving.
