FAQs
What do you mean 'at random times'?
I schedule my products to go live on the website one at a time, randomly. For example, one product may appear at 04:36 the next one at 09:12 the next 09:54 etc. I ensure the products appear at all times of the day to cover all time zones. Multiples of one product may also be made available when an item goes live.
Why do you release items at random times?
I used to do 'drops' where I pre-announced the time and date my items would be available to buy. But demand is greater than my ability to create so many people would miss out and then I started to receive a lot of angry correspondence. It was pretty upsetting. So I switched to releasing items at random times to avoid the big rush and therefore the nasty comments.
Do you do wholesale?
Sorry but at the moment I don’t offer the wholesale option.
I want my own message. Do you do custom orders?
Yes, you can apply your own message. See my 'WAITLIST WEDNESDAY' page for details.
How long do custom orders take?
Up to 8 weeks. All pieces are made in batches, each batch has to be made, dried, bisque fired, glazed and then glazed fired. It’s a slow process which is why it can take so long for custom orders to be ready.
Do you have a waiting list?
The waitlist list is the same as placing a custom order. When you buy you are on the waitlist. Your order will be made within about 8 weeks.
I always miss your website updates, can I just place an order? I'm not in a hurry.
Sorry no, to keep it fair everything is done via the website. I do get a lot of DMs and emails asking for a special favour or a queue jump but I don't do that I'm afraid.
How much do they cost?
Mugs are £35-40. Other smaller items vary.
Where do you post?
Worldwide. It's £5 for all UK orders but if you want to ship to another country this will be significantly higher and you will be responsible for any customs charges. See shipping costs here.
How do you make them?
It varies, some pieces are made using the pinch method from start to finish but most mugs are started on a pottery wheel just to form the base shape. To help speed things up a local potter helps me with this stage. I then hand shape each piece, attach the handle and stamp the lettering. Next they are bisque fired. When they come out of the kiln I glaze each letter individually, then each mug is given a full clear glaze and finally a colour glaze dip before being fired one more time in the kiln.
Do you make left handed ones?
Yes, for custom orders there is an option to select a left handed handle. For my pre-made items, including the original 'cunt mug', I include a few of left handers. This will be clear on the listing.
Why are they wonky?
Each mug is carefully finished using just my hands. This means finger marks and wonky shapes and edges are part of their character. I believe this adds to their charm, they are unmistakably handcrafted.
Can you make other sizes or shapes of mug?
No. For now, I’m simplifying the process for me by keeping them all the same, it allows me to work faster.
Why so sweary?
I love a good profanity and I wanted to create something beautiful with my favourite swear words or phrases and celebrate them unashamedly. Plus I hope they make people laugh too.
Anything you won’t allow?
Yes, nothing that directly offends someone’s appearance, faith, gender or anything else I don’t like or feel uncomfortable with.
Are your items microwave or dishwasher safe?
Yes they are but, due to their handmade nature, they are not as robust as mass produced factory ceramics so I would recommend hand washing instead.
Where are they made?
From my home in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Do you have any physical stores where I can view your products?
No, I don’t have any physical stockists.
Do you recruit or have a team?
No, I’m a one-woman gig and I don’t have plans to change that for now.
Who is Natalie? I see you talk about her on social media.
Natalie is my dear friend who I lost to cancer in 2015. She and I shared a love of swearing, I make these ceramics for her, the gift I never got to give her. She would have LOVED them.
