Frequently Asked Questions
How are they made?
Each piece is handcrafted either using the pinch method from start to finish or the initial base shape is thrown on a pottery wheel by me or a local potter who occasionally helps me. Every single piece is then hand shaped by me using just fingers and thumbs, I attach the handle and then hand stamp the lettering. They are bisque fired and when they come out of the kiln I glaze the lettering. Finally each mug is then given a full clear glaze and a colour glaze dip before being fired one more time in the kiln.

How long do personalised orders take?
Up to 12 weeks. All pieces are made in batches, each batch has to be made, dried, bisque fired, glazed and then glazed fired. It’s a slow process which is why it can take so long for custom orders to be ready.
Do you have a waiting list?
Yes, the waitlist is only for personalised orders and opens every 2-3 months. Sign up to the newsletter to receive updates.
Where do you post?
£5 on all UK orders but if you want to ship to another country this will be significantly higher and any customs charges will need to be paid by you.

Why are they wonky?
Each mug is carefully made using just my hands, they are not thrown on a potter’s wheel. This means fingers marks and wonky shapes and edges are part of their character. I believe this adds to their charm, they are unmistakably handcrafted.
Why so sweary?
I love a good profanity and I wanted to create something beautiful with my favourite swear words or phrases and celebrate them unashamedly. Plus I hope they make people laugh too.
Anything you won’t allow?
Yes, nothing that directly offends someone’s appearance, faith, gender or anything else I don’t like or feel uncomfortable with.
Are your items microwave or dishwasher safe?
Yes they are but, due to their handmade nature, they are not as robust as mass produced factory ceramics so I would recommend hand washing instead.
Do you do wholesale?
Sorry but at the moment I don’t offer the wholesale option.
Where are they made?
From my home in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Who is Natalie? I see you talk about her on social media.
Natalie is my dear friend who I lost to cancer in 2015. She and I shared a love of swearing, I make these ceramics for her, the gift I never got to give her. She would have LOVED them.
Do you have any physical stores where I can view your products?
Do you recruit or have a team?
No, I’m a one-woman gig and I don’t have plans to change that for now.
Can you make other sizes or shapes of mug?
No. For now, I’m simplifying the process for me by keeping them all the same, it allows me to work faster.
